Why are liberals so willing to throw the white flag up? Was France 100% liberal in June 1940? That might explain a lot.

Because most hard-core liberals don't believe in war under any circumstances. They also don't believe there's anything in it for us.

Hey, spicoli - time to drop the bong, dude...MILLIONS of Iraqis risked their lives to vote - I'd say that means they DO want what Bush is offering.

You need to pay better attention. Republicans are leaving behind their support of Bush's war faster than rats leaving a sinking ship. Even the "yes" men and women of his inner circle are trying to get through to him. The only people not disgusted by his stubborn inaction are the newly polled 21% percent of the American population that have the same problem Bush does - their egos won't let them admit they were wrong. How does it feel to be part of a minority choking from sticking their heads in the sand. BTW - Me? Not a liberal, not even close. And does the name Gates ring any bells?

Only 9% think that Iraq can be a clear cut victory, and less than 91% of the population considers themselves liberal. So some conservatives must be against the war.

Liberals declare the war is lost because it is.. and this mess is in no comparison to the second world war and France. This is just one mans idea of becoming famous and as we are learning now.. probably the whole plot was hatched by the Bush regime and the Saudis... never can be too rich or have too much oil say the Bush's. Americas number two crime family methinks...

ok. deep breath. let it out slowly. where do i start? liberals arent wusses. you need to get out of the house more. im liberal, and i dont think the "war" is lost. i believe the point of the war is lost. why are we there? to try and bring democracy to a country who has never had it, and therefore dont know what to do with it? why are we there? for the good of a people who hate us? isnt saddam hussein a global problem, and shouldnt the u.n. be dealing with it? why just us? lemme tell you. for oil. for example, when the gulf war was going on, the first orders were to secure the oil rigs before any attacks began. iraq is filled with this natural resource. what do we need to accomplish there? to build a government that won't be accepted until bush agrees with who is put into power? im sorry i sound opinionated. i respect people's opinions, yours is fine, but dont insult people with stupid questions. you need to open your eyes to what is going on in current events. oh and...

france wasnt liberal. they tried to fight germany but they buckled under hitler's advanced technology. considering they went up against him single-handedly until they lost (thats when we jumped in).

because the USA cant after two years control more than a few block, it is a disaster greater than Vietnam, that cant be won as it is immoral pointless war
however your history weak
France declared war on the Nazis when they invaded Poland, the USA were cowards and refused to declare war, when London was bomb and lost 40 000 civilians, the American response was to pass a law forbidding Americans to fight the Nazis.
it was only when the USA was attacked that the USA grew a little back bone and stopped supporting the Nazis and joined the brave french and British, a very very cowardly act by America

All world powers have lost, and if we go by this world domination arrogance you republicans have we will end up no different than the romans, Napoleon, the british, etc. Get it through your head we are not invincible in everything, and if we are not careful we will lose more than just one war. We have lost there and the only way to win is to quit being so damn arrogant in everything we try to do and leave, before some nation who has the capability of invading our own country gets invovled. Read your history.

France in 1940 has nothing to do with what's happening today. Anyone who looks at the situation objectively has to conclude that we are definitely not winning. Trying to makes jabs at the democrats is just a lame attempt to change the subject.

So liberals make up 70+% of the population? According to the latest poll, only 22% or so approve of this administration's handling of the war. There was no mention of quitting.

I dont know. People expect to lose 0 troops in a war. You dont play a chess match expecting to lose 0 pieces. I think to many people are pansies. How many of these liberals would, ata minutes notice, defend this country?
