irregardless of whether I strech it out or not, exercise chronicly tweaks my neck. I feel it when I look up, it's a whiplash feeling.

I've tried to conciously keep my head and shoulders relaxed as well with no benefit. Lately I've been screwing it up like clockwork about every two weeks.

In the context of energetic medicine: Conflicts affecting the throat chakra have to do with speaking one's truth and/or choices one makes in life. Look for a conflict 1 - 3 years before the onset of symptoms, about which you had negative emotions and about which you compulsed. (I.e. It drove you nuts....) Go clean up the problem by saying what you need to say and/or cleaning up a bad decision.

Physically: Previous answers indicated a Chiropractor. Good advice. But they are only a band-aid if you don't do something about the underlying problem. The answer about computers could be expanded to looking at all things that create stress in your neck and back. It could be as simple as you need orthotics, or you've been walking funny because of a sprained ankle two years ago, or your car seat should be set back one notch, or your office chair is one inch too low, etc.

Did you ever injure your neck? Falling off a motorcycle, playing football, landing hard on your feet, rear-ended in a car or being struck in the skull from above, etc? Maybe you need x-rays. A chiro will need a set for your initial assessment and will prescribe them for you.

"irregardless" is not a word. You should consult an ergonomics expert about your workspace and habits. Chiropractors are a bunch of quacks. I had chronic neck pain, but I got a new flat monitor, so I can face it head-on now without turning my head and my neck doesn't hurt any more.

I also recommend sleeping with a buckwheat hull pillow, they are fantastic for your neck!

I use to have neck pain, until I bought a new pillow that gives my neck the support it needs while sleeping. I have a tempur-pedic pillow and one that has the two humps and dips in the middle. They both work wonders.

Go to the Chiropractor. They work wonders. I went and after I was adjusted just once I was able to turn my neck farther than I knew was possible! You probably just need a good adjustment.

How long are you on the computer daily. If many hours, be sensitive to your shoulder and neck muscles and try to relax them when on the computer. Adjust how you are sitting too.
