Im gonna get a phone and i checked both of them out, and the thing i liked about t-mobile is that you have that 5 favorite people thing. Verizon seemed ok too. So Which one do you recomend? Also which one has the better phones?

T-mobile by far! I did not like verizon at all because they have real corny phones and such, and as far as there rate plans they are way to expensive compared to t-mobile. T-mobile has great cell phones with a huge arsenal of differant sizes, colors and complexity.
The rate plans blow all cell phone companies out of the water. The coverage is the best. I have had t-mobile when it was only in EU and then here also. Let's not even get into how good there customer service is. Good Luck. Go for the T where you always get more.

Verizon has better reception. I had T-mobile, and switched to Verizon for that reason. Although Verizon is a little bit more expensive.

I have travelled all over and fought with many different cell phone companies and broke more than one contract. Verizon beats them all by far and that's who I've stuck with. I can't think of a time where I didn't have service like most carriers. Sure you get dropped calls occasssionally, but they all do that. I'm not sure what it is you like about the 5 favorite people thing exactly.......sounds like a marketing gimick, nothing more, IMO. I personally like to know my phone is going to work wherever I go.

Ask people around you what they use, and their experiences.. then go for the trial period to see who works where you need it.

I'm sure there are areas where Cingular, T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint, or Alltel are garbage and another carrier will work better.. for instance T-Mobile and Verizon are the best two to get here in Columbus, OH.. Cingular is complete garbage, and sprint leaves something to be desired if you know what i mean ;)

Verizon was once again rated the best by Consumer Reports. I've had Verizon since it's been around (and before the company was formed I had one of the legacy companies). I've never had a problem.
