It's an eBay item: NEW DELL XPS M1710 Core 2 Duo 2.33GHz 2GB RAM 7900 GTX
Price: $700.00 USD
I don't have a link because the item was removed by the seller, but I contacted the seller before it was removed. The seller said he would put it back up if I was willing to buy it.
By the way: The seller is from Romania
Thank you for your opinion, and please explain why you think it is a scam or not.
Happy Holidays!

Complete scam. A $2500+ laptop for $700, seller outside of the US.
Probably only accepts Western Union, right?

He'd get the money, and disappear. You'll never get the laptop.
*15 fake feedbacks. I'm 100% positive of this. How many of those people have under 20 feedback or are no longer registered members? Look at it this way: A kick *** laptop for less than 25% of the actual retail price. What person on Earth would sell something like that at such a huge loss?
Remember: If it sound too good to be true, it probably isn't.

The fact that he has your real name and home address, you DO NOT want to play him at his own game. That only works if it's an email scammer and your email address does not contain your real name - then you can scambait them. But these are not lone individuals conducting these check scams - they are criminal gangs and you do not want to mess with them when they know where you live. These money laundering scams are usually run by the Russian or Nigerian mafia and they are brutal. All you can do is tell him you deposited the check and were on your way to Western Union when your bank called to tell you there was a problem with the check and you needed to come back. Say you went back and the police were there, who took you into the station for questioning. Say that you gave the police his name and email and showed them the emails that this was a real job offer, and that he has to go to the police station when he's back in the US to sort everything out. Say you still want the job but you will only take cash when you appear at the job, nothing else, as you are now under investigation for bank fraud and your account has been temporarily frozen until he goes to the police and settles this matter. But don't go beyond that since they do know where you live and your real name. Reporting this to the FBI is the best way to get back at them.

What is the sellers feedback rating? Depending where you are located it maybe just to much of a risk to even think about. The old saying maybe if something sounds to good to be true, then maybe it is or perhaps it is just stolen.
Look what it would cost on www.pricewatch.com as who knows maybe you could find a retailer on there would have Core 2 Duo for the same price.

Well check the sellers rating and see how low or high it is. If its below 97 BECAREFUL. It may be a scam. I suggest you get your laptop at walmart. It would be safer. Or if you do buy it off ebay then make sure you have a paypal account its the safest way to send money over the internet!

Well, they're asking US dollars for while they are in Romania? Personally I wouldn't buy the computer. I wouldn't buy any computer from anybody off of Ebay, cause you don't know what you're going to get. Why not just spend a few hundred more to buy a computer straight from the manufactorer or retailer? At least you'll get a warranty or service plan.

Do not buy from overseas. Period. Why did the seller remove it? Because no one bid on it, or??? This is one I definitely would pass up.

It's very possible, what makes me suspicious is that he removed it and then tells you he would put it back up if you were willing to buy. I would keep shopping if I were you.
Good Luck!
