Fire Millen is the number 1 priority. He's had more than a fair shot and the team has not improved even a little. I think they have a good core in place. They need to spend some money to get the next big free agent QB (like New Orleans w/ Drew Brees) not somebody who was a career back-up that they think can be a starter (Jon Kitna, Scott Mitchell). They need to give their coach a couple of seasons to build an organization, not try to win in 2 years. The Lions expect to win a ton of games when all of their best players are 3rd or 2nd year players, and in some cases rookies. They need to let theses guys become veterans. But with a few years in the same system this team could develop into a good core. Along the way you add some youth through the draft and sign some veteran free agents. But don't place all of the pressure to win on guys who have only been pros for a couple of seasons. I still think Joey Harrington will be a quality QB with some talent and veteran players around him.

Start with management. No one wants to play or coach in Detroit right now. I thought Kitna would be a good fit for detroit, but his turning the ball over too much. And where is the RUNNING GAME. Thats Mike Marts for ya though. Look at the best teams in the league. They all except the colts, run the ball and stop the run. Detroit has some good talent, but they need a few more pieces. I think the O-Line needs an overhaul. The defense needs work everywhere except DT. Suan Rogers is a beast.
Its pretty sad. Downward spiral since good ole Barry left.
Roy Williams is the best player on the team. Give williams a Mcnabb, or a Manning and all the sudden he looks like one of the greats. You can believe that player!

Fire Millen is the first step. Get rid of your worthless recievers like Williams, find a QB, and stick with a coach for a little while. These are starting points for the Lions. You are dealing with probably one of the most dysfunctional organizations in the NFL when you talk about the Lions. There is a lot of work to be done to make this team a playoff contender, much less a Super Bowl contender.

Getting rid of Millen is a must. Realistically you will have to rebuild or re-tool which means you may have to be patient for the next 2-3 seasons, Millen has been a very poor evaluater of talent which has left the Lions in a bigger mess than when he was hired. You then need to either trade or draft a QB. Randy Moss I think would be quite a good fit in Detroit. If Culpepper could prove his fitness he would be someone I would consider looking at. Him and Moss could reignite there careers. The d-fense is in quite good shape so you could concentrate on the offense first.

Coaching Staff and Management must realize they have a problem first. Second spend some money and get players that can grow with one another. There must be changes in the coaching staff as well.

better coaching...develop the draft picks they pick up rather than throwing them in the fire and hoping they dont burn...theye drafted some decent players (harrington was good out of college, williams(both)) but they dont do anything to develp these guys as players...create a winning culture w/in the entire organization. from the janitor to the owner...
