Google means to look or stare at something, usually a pretty woman, it is similar to the word Ogle.

In the early 20th century for example there was the comic strip Barney Google, a bug eyed fellow. There was a song, "Barney Google with the Goo Goo Googley Eyes" that illustrates the usage of the word.

It has been in the American lexicon since the 19th century and is much older than the word googol which is a very large number and which did not enter the lexicon until 1938.

But Google mostly means "to look" which is appropriate for a search engine with which you "look" things up.
