I am learning to play the piano, however we don't have room in our house for a piano. I want to have something to practice on at home that I can put in our basement after each use. I thought maybe a keyboard would be a good idea, however a keyboard doesn't really have the same sound as a piano which I much prefer. Just wondering if anyone had any recommendations. Thanks!!!!

My daughter has a Yamaha keyboard that has several piano "voices" to it, as well as many others. Grand, honkie-tonk, electric, upright, etc. I don't know the model number, but we bought it for her a couple years ago, so I'm sure there is a new model. It is an 88 key, and we paid about $400 for it. We bought it at "The Guitar Center" - a national chain.

Depending on how much you want to spend there are plenty of keyboards with great piano samples. Yamaha and Alesis are two I've used.

Check with your local musical instrument vendor and try some out. You can probably find that just about any mass-chain retailer will probably carry at least one model this time of year.

Yamaha has a pretty good, and realistic Grand Piano sound. I would stay away from Casio (too artificial). You can pick up a decent Yamaha Keyboard for around 200.
