IUDs are very effective form of BC however, there is a slight risk of getting pregnant. If you don't start your pd when you expect to, you need to take another pregnancy test or go to your doctor. It's not safe to be pregnant with an IUD, the risk for tubal pregnancy is higher. If you just recently got the IUD, your body may be a little out of whack while you're adjusting to it.

Are you perhaps referring to the "Mirena" IUD? If so, you should know that it is one of the most reliable methods of birth control. Only about 1 in 1,000 women will experience an unintended pregnancy within the first year of using the Mirena IUD.

During the first three months of using Mirena, you may experience some mild symptoms like cramping, acne or other skin problems, back pain, breast tenderness, headache, or mood changes. These symptoms will decrease over time. If they stay bad or get worse, talk to your doctor again, because you may need to switch to another IUD.

My mother got pregnant while she had Minerva IUD, my baby brother is 28 years old this years.... The IUD can become crooked and ...well.... things (sperm) gets thru... Take another test in about 2/3 weeks. We'll see in couple of months... Good Luck

Yes you can get pregnant with an IUD. No birth control is 100% effective except abstinence. If you are afraid you might be pregnant then see the doc.
