Yes it is possible, because some women do not even know they are miscarrying. I have had 2 miscarriages and 1 blighted ovum(which ended with a d&c). With my first miscarriage I was taking the pregnancy test and it came back positive right off the bat and when I wiped I was bleeding bright red. My mom took me to the ER immediately, I was only 15. I went to the doctor the next day and he said that I had already miscarried and everything was out of my uterus. With my 2nd miscarriage, I didn't even know I was pregnant. i started bleeding really bad 2 weeks before my period was due and I went to the ER and they told me I was pregnant and having a miscarriage. I passed it naturally and went to the doctor to make sure everything was out and that my levels were going down.
To answer your question, it is possible, but I would still follow up with the doctor to make sure there is no debris left in your uterus because that can lead to infection.

i had a m/c at 6.5 wks and I went to the hospital. All it got me was $1500.00 in medical bills and "If you were pregnant, you had a m/c" from the doc. If you are bleeding extremely heavily or are in serious pain though you should go, there maybe other serious problems as well. If not, call your doctor they may take you today as an emergency appt, which may cost an extra $50 than a regular appt, but the doc can make sure all of the fetal tissue is expelled and everything else is ok. They wil probably do some blood tests as well. good luck and i know your pain.

Yes and no.
I had a miscarriage in the middle of the night, passed some huge blood clots. I stopped bleeding. Called the doctor in the morning and the nurse wanted me to bring the clots in when I went to see the doctor later that day. They got flushed, i thought I just had a weird period. I thought that was pretty gross.
Anyway, said that to say this: you do need to be checked out by a doctor to make sure that you had a complete miscarriage and that there is nothing left in your uterus that could cause future problems. Turns out mine was what they call a spontaneous abortion (I hate that word), what a shock. I got pregnant again the next month and had a healthy baby girl nine months later.

Yes, if the miscarriage was complete. If you continue to bleed more than a cup's worth, get yourself to the hospital quickly. the miscarriage is incomplete and will not stop bleeding on it's own. Been there, done that.

Did women not miscarry before there were hospitals and doctors or something? Did they all drop like flies?
I miscarried at 6-8 weeks and never went to the hospital.. partially because i didnt know I was pregnant until AFTER i miscarried and didnt know thats what had happened.
Theres risk of infection if the uterus didnt clean itself out completely. So you would be well advised to go in and get checked.

If you have had a miscarriage you should defiantly get yourself to the hospital. You could cause yourself so many more problems if you dont see a doctor. They have to check you to see if everything has passed through or not. If the bleeding doesn't stop it could cause you to hemorrhage which could lead to SERIOUS problems. Good luck and make sure you take care of yourself.

Every woman is different, but what I have read you may want to get checked out because they often do a D&C procedure to make sure all the tissue or something is gone and that you don't end up with an infection. Maybe consult a physician for a definite answer.

If you're relatively involved return to health facility. I have a 2 yr historical daughter and whilst I was once nine weeks pregnant along with her I started bleeding closely. I was once out and in of health facility however my little one was once best. It grew to become out, at my later scans, that I had truthfully been pregnant with twins and misplaced one. The empty sac was once there with out a little one. There would be a legitimate purpose for the bleeding. Some ladies nonetheless have durations for the duration of their pregnancies. Always recollect it is bigger to be riskless than sorry. If unsure return to health facility!

I wouldn't. You at least need to see your doctor to make sure there is no retained tissue.
amosunkno: Yes! Women did drop like flies in the past. (I won't say before doctors and hospitals. They don't help much. Let's just say before modern science.) Pregnancy and childbirth were the most dangerous things a woman ever did. Women hardly ever lived to see menopause. There was no birth control, so women kept having babies until they died from childbirth.

Yes, absolutely. You may want to get checked out by a doctor, but I would avoid any invasive procedures (D & C) if possible.
I miscarried at home and then saw my ob/gyn afterwards for a check up.
