I'm looking for who was the first player in the NFL to sign a contract for a million or more dollars PER year....not total. i.e., making one or more million per year.

Not sure. I do remember in 1968 when Namath signed for $400,000 a year and people thought that was outrageous. The first million dollar a year contract? Not sure, can't find but will keep looking.

The first NCAA coach to get a million dollar contract was Steve Spurrier. I couldn't find the 1st NFL player.

Ware is large, yet I dont imagine ANY protecting gamers are worth that type of dough... I purely dont imagine 1 protecting participant can impact a sport adequate to pay his insane quantities of money, he nevertheless has to produce different good gamers round him.
