Worse, we as a planet would end up living as everyone for themselves, survival of the fittest and luckiest. No services, hospitals, police, schools, jails, armies, etc... People would just take and take until civilization collapsed.
Having a world government, with world police would sure cut down on the number of wars though. On a world level guilty persons of any position in any country could be convicted for their crimes without all the bloodshed of war. A great ideal, but try to get over 200 (so to speak) KINGS or Rulers to give up part of their total power. Not very likely.

Governments are a necessary evil.
Sure, no government, no taxes, but also no public education, no social security, no military or police force to protect and to defend us, no subsidized health care, no utilities, no post office, etc. The list is virtually endless.
If you live in a society, even a primitive society, you need some kind of government.
And, as Winston Churchill once put it: "Democracy is the worst form of government - except for all those other forms that have been tried."

no government would mean no police protection fire protection and so many other things we take for granted , and I do agree we have to much government , laws and such and there is a lot of room for improvement , but, try living some where that there is no gov, laws or ??? what we have is certainly better than nothing. and I feel I am as tough and mean as anyone else, but, my family ??? and I really don't want to carry a gun with me every where i go, nor my wife to need a gun to go to the store

Thomas Payne answered that one very well in his pamphlet, Common Sense. If the government dissolved, we would find new governments arising, due to a need of the people to have a structured society.

We need some type of government. It didn't take long for the survivors of Hurricaine Katrina to lose their 'civilization'. It needn't be the form we have now though.

Other than having to defend yourself it could be pretty sweet.
Maybe the solution isn't no government but much less government.
