One loyalist woman I do know about, and this is a very interesting piece of historical trivia, is Flora McDonald. As a young woman she supported the young pretender when he raised the Scottish clans against the Hanoverians. After his defeat at Culloden, it was she that helped him escape, disguised as her maid. As a result, she left the UK and settled in the American colonies. When the revolution began, she supported the Hanoverians and not the rebels. I always thought she would have supported those opposed to the Hanoverians but she didn't and she suffered for it. The revolutionaries took all her property and she had to flee to Canada. So, she suffered once for supporting a rebellion and once for opposing one.
