I'm all for honesty. Just think of what you'd be doing if you weren't on the phone with this person, and tell them you're going to get off the phone to do that. If they protest, just assert yourself and give them a chance to nicely say goodbye. If they continue to protest, just say goodbye and hang up. If they continue to call you, just mention the word stalker to them.

Blow on the phone on the part where you talk so it could sound like the line is breaking up and say hello i can't here you.
Say i have another line from a Friend that lives in another country
Say i have to call my grandmother its her birthday
say i have to go use the bathroom
say my mother has to call her parents
say i need to call my mother, its a nasty emergency!

Either tell them someone else needs to use the phone, or just be honest and tell them you don't feel like talking anymore you'll see or talk to them later.

Say, "Can you hold on a minute?" then cover the mouth piece and mumble something to yourself. Get back on the phone and say, "I have to go, bye." It works and you won't have to come up with a lame excuse. Good luck!

try hanging up the phone on them. if they still call then say why the **** you calling me *****. that will make them scared and won't call u no more. but thats just what i do when i don't want to talk to someone.

Depends on your intent. If you never want to talk to this person, or if you just don't feel like talking or don't have the time now........easist way is to say you have important incomong call and want to keep liine open.

Say firmly, Yeh i have got to go now, i will talk to you later, BYE and hang up with out letting them get in another word.

I just say, "well I'm gonna let you go," like I'm doing them a favor because they're busy. If they keep talking I say that I have to be somewhere in 5 minutes.
