AVG is a great antivirus! You should, ideally, run it every day. But once a week is fine too.

I really like AVG better than any other anti-virus I've tried - and I think I've tried them all at some point! It does a good job and it's easy to work with. Also, if you need to uninstall it for some reason, it's actually possible to do it on the first try (unlike Norton).
I have mine set to do a daily scan -- you can choose the time of day it's done, so I just have mine set to run in the wee hours of the morning when I'm asleep.

everyday when you first turn on your computer repeatedly press F8 to enter the safe mode. run avg in the safe mode because some of your windows startup files might have viruses, trogans or worms. getting rid of these will make your computer run faster. also run spyware removal tool. then strat your computere the normal way and you are ready to go. happy surfing :))

I don't like it at all. Don't think it does a very good job preventing viruses. If you want a free one I prefer avast at www.avast.com.
