You cannot help someone who does not want (or think they need) help. All you can do at this point is let them know that you care about them, and that you are there for them if they need you. It is difficult to do, but you just have to let them reach rock bottom. That is when they will ask for your help...and then you move heaven and earth to get them that help.

if you really care about your bff you wouldnt push him really hard. dont make him feel uncomfortable in anyway. try and make him feel like its no big deal. the last thing you want is to have the friendship ruined. so just be there for your best friend and dont make such a big deal of it. what i learned is that if someone doesnt want help and you have tried everything you could and you have failed then take two steps back(not litterally) and let them do what they want. eventually things will become easier. good luck.

addiction is a personal battle. No one I mean No one can help. this must be dealt with by the BFF when he is ready to do so. There is nothing you can or should do. This is why you fight every time you try to help. Leave it and him alone and go on with your life. Reconnect when they have dealt with their own addiction.

Of course you should help! You're their best friend, that is what you are there for. If your friend really needs help, GET IT, even if you do it w/o them knowing. Tell another friend, a parent(yours or theirs), do something because they may end up dead and you will blame yourself forever. They will thank you for it in the end. Trust me. Do what is needed to be done, for your friend's sake.

An addiction? You should tell an adult, like a school counselor or her parents. Addictions can lead to deaths, and if parents don't know, it will hit them much harder because they couldn't try to help.

people with addictions cannot be helped unless they admit the problem. he doesn't sound like he will. you are better off without that problem and him.
