yeah that would be an awesome christmas treat! well i told very early in pregnancy like 3wks..but of course there were different circumstances...im 19 years old, the father of the child and i hadnt been dating that long, we arent married (yet), etc...So i was under extra pressure, however, if i had the opportunity i would definitely take this wonderful chance to let everyone know on Christmas...lol im so giddy about that stuff, but i honestly think its a good idea..go for it!! oh and Congrats!!!

I'm in the same situation ... i'll be 12weeks for Christmas and this is the 1st grandbaby/great grandbaby for both our families. We decided that Christmas is the perfect day to surprise everyone ... its a day everyone is together and happy ... so why not!? I've been dying to tell my mom all along, but so far I have managed to keep my mouth shut, lol! Congrats to you and good luck with your little one. There are a lot of cute ways to let them know on Christmas day ... wrap up I love Grandma/pa bibs, or put the 1st sonogram pic in a little baby frame, or buy a baby doll and stick a note on it that says "redeemable for a grandchild in Sept 2007" Even custom made scratch-offs .... all kinds of cute ideas ... so think of something that you like and go for it. Looks like Christmas is going to be extra special this year for your family and mine :) BTW, although its early in your pregnancy and anything can happen from now to delivery day ... don't let that hold you back from telling your family ... they will be there for you no matter what, good times and bad.

It is so exciting and very hard not to tell.I told everyone with my first as soon as I found out and I ended up having a miscarriage:(With my 2nd pregnancy we waited until I was past 12 weeks in case that happened again-thankfully it did not.I am now pregnant again-30 weeks tomorrow-and I told my family and my hubby's family around 6 weeks only because I needed my mom to watch my 19 month old while I went to my 1st OB appointment. It is up to you-it is so hard not to tell-especially around Christmas would be so fun.I wish the best to you!

I was maybe 4 weeks along when I told my parents- my doctor also said I was perfectly healthy, and the baby was as well. I say go for it! It would be such a wonderful surprise!!! :) Congratulations! My son weighed 9lbs 10oz- he was VERY healthy...it wasn't because of any problems, just a big shock to us and the doctors because he was perfectly healthy! Goodluck!
I have to add here that I went to my youngest brother's b-day party my mom had for him- it was 3 days before I found out I was pregnant, anyways, a few days later when I found out and told my parents, my mom said she went to work that next day telling everyone how it looked as if I were "glowing." She said I looked great! lol I just thought that was kind of neat- how she noticed but didn't put it together just yet... that was th e night I kind of sensed I was pregnant, and then a couple of days later took the test to see. :)

Since it will be the 1st grandchild on each side you could have special t-shirts made for the grandparents. Something like Worlds Best Grandma/Grandpa. Wrap them and give them to them before they open any other gifts it would be a wonderful surprise and such a happy occasion! GL and congrats!

You should tell your families.
pregnancy is so special and I'm sure the longer they can be apart of it the happier they'll be.
Christmas is always a good time to tell plus at my family christmas' everyone has a drink or a few. lol. and if your family is like that, they'll wonder what's up if you don't drink.
Plus even at 7 weeks you've changed and if they haven't seen you much, they'll wonder....and likely guess!

I would tell them too! Congrats to you both. I am 32 weeks pregnant & we told our family the day we found out. We had been trying for 5 years so we were so excited we couldn't hold the news. :)

it is generally advised to wait until your safely out of the first trrmester but i dont see what the harm would be in telling your close family members, like your parents. Congratulations and what a great Christmas surprise.
