Use the Jergens lotion with the bit of self tanner in it. It goes on evenly, and in a few days you are tan. It takes more time, but streaks are not likely. The color isnt' orange either. I love it.

I've used Bare Escentuals Faux Tan with good results, it goes on colored so you can see where you've put it then develops in a few hours' time, and has a good scent. I've even used it on my face and felt it looked natural.

I liked the Neutrogena spray. It was easy to apply, no lines, & not orange. For a really good result you can have it done "professionally"; most tanning salons do it.
