I'm a Raiders fan and the past few years hasn't given me much to cheer about. Al Davis is an idiot for not drafting Matt Leinart when he had the chance. As bad as Oakland is this year, they should get the first pick in the 2007 draft. If Al doesn't pick Brady Quinn or Troy Smith, he's the moron off all times.

You hit the nail on the head. Al Davis is the problem and he needs to hand the day to day operations over to someone who is in the mix of today's NFL. Davis is from the past and is still living in it. Instead of investing money in a number one pick(QB) he rather go get a QB that couldn't make it anywhere else. Let's see what he does this draft and you are right if he doesn't take either he is the idiot of all time!

He should, but the problem is, neither one of those guys can do jack squat for the raiders alone, the raiders need a lot more help than brady quinn and troy smith, while they are both great players, they cannot block for themselves. Another option to consider is trading down into the 10-20 range, in a deal swapping picks and the raiders picking up a o-lineman as well

DOES ANYONE REMEBER THE ROBERT GALLERY DISASTER? THEY HAD A VERY HIGH PICK THAT YEAR AND SPENT IT ON A BUST. Not only did they waste that pick, but they overpaid Gallery. I like the raiders and hope that whomever gets to make the final say on who is drafted chooses Brady Quinn or Troy Smith in the first round. They will most likely have pick number one, maybe number two, so they should be able to get one or the other. Unfortunatley the raiders have more problems than the QB though. TRADE RANDY MOSS!! HES A TEAM KILLER!

first of all, al davis may not even be making decisions for the raiders. the nfl is studying the raiders organization to see if they are competent to run an nfl franchise.

but back to your question, considering they will be early in the draft there will be qb's available. i don't know if they should take one or not. they can't protect the ones they have now... and next year the QB won't have anyone to throw to. their roster is really really bad at every position. what position should they draft 1st? maybe a player that can play both sides of the ball ALL GAME.

The real question is Would the Raiders want to spend $30M in guarenteed money for Troy Smith or Brady Quinn? I don't think so.

A QB will do them no good if he's picking himself off the turf after every play. Their OL is horrible.

Either trade the pick and get some OL help, or keep it and take Adrian Peterson out of Oklahoma. I don't think a QB is the answer yet. Ball control and keep what's becoming a very good young defense off the field as much as possible.

Al Davis has destroyed the Raiders. Until he sells the team the Raiders will be the butt of every bad NFL joke.

IF:Oakland #1 - Brady Quinn
IF:Tennessee #1- Calvin Johnson:
IF: Packers #1 - Adrian Peterson
Those are the top three through week 2.

The have overall talent in moss and jordan, but they can't play as a team and their O-line and Offensive cordinators are terrible. The defense is however much improved.

I'm sorry, I don't think Al Davis is smart enough to pick a QB. The guy is senile. He's gotta be to make the dumb moves he's made the last five years.

No. The Raiders won't make any progress as long as Al Davis is the owner.
