I would need to know which PC Recovery CD(s) you have.

Obviously they came with your computer and are engineered not to install on third party PCs.

It is possible, however, it's not a nutshell solution. An experienced user would need to examine the contents of the CD(s) and extract only the necessary files to create a new Windows CD. Too much hassle.

I know it's a real pain to install all the trashware that PC manufacturers force upon us when we buy a new PC, however, it's the only sure way to know that Windows was indeed installed with all necessary components & remains error free.

Try the manufacturer's help line. Most call agents know how to do it but are restricted from telling people. I know this was the case long ago when I worked supporting IBM computers.

Sorry, I wish I had better news.

Philip T

If you bought a computer that was preinstalled with the OS then most likely if you just want the OS you will have to have a cd that just has the OS on it and not the bundle cd.

Are you kidding why would you want to put ME on your computer, it was rated the worst software product ever released according to cnet.com. Spend a little money and get an XP upgrade you will be so much more happy.
