I'm partial to the lifebreath line of products manufactured In Canada by Nutech www.lifebreath.com they cover all of North America and have been in business for Over 25 years. I've installed several brands and it seems to be the quietest and most dependable Replacement parts are easy to get and the manufacturer also makes hrvs for other companies. Make sure that the system is properly air balanced by a qualified installer and is serviced regularly. A poorly installed system may pressurize your house and drive moisture into the walls where you cant see molds growing or depressurizes your house and cause downdrafts in furnace or fireplace venting systems Therefore increasing the risk of creating carbon monoxide

Hello, as a former supervisor for Tech Refrigeration Svc. i can tell you if money is a no concern , go with Trane for all your needs , they have high efficiency units and the best warranty on the market, , if your house have an attic you may want to include discharge fans, like -www.wholehousefan.com - and remenber you need a HVAC system complete with bacterial filter and electrostatic cleaner too , this inversion last for more than 10 years so keep that in mind, and also give more value to your home, i dont reccomend portable air puriffiers because of the cost of replacement filters neither those mini split units. http://www.venmar.ca/Product.aspx?productId=4 you can go to this site to start your research if you only want the unit. i cant give cost because it depends where u live and the dealer that serves in your area. Also keep in mind that temperature affects moisture so try maintain 72 to 78 degrees at all times in your home. thanks.

Late to the party but I can tell you which is the worst. Venmar. Search the web and you will see how much Venmar products are garbage. Me and 2 people I know each had a venmar air exchanger and all 3 units died. The motor burned, which should never happen. Venmar build such poor quality air exchanger that there is a recall on several hundred thousands units after several units caught fire. Seriously, search the web for something like "venmar air exchanger not working" and you will see why you should *not* buy Venmar products.
