I attempted to dry clothes and they burned in the dryer. Someone told me my lent trap may need to be replaced.

Hello Pretty:

Your friend may be correct however there are a few things you can do to better determine if the trap is defected. One would be is to pull the lent screen to determine if it is packed full of lent. If not, and you have put in a full load then it is possible that the exhaust tube is plugged. One other item to look for is if the dryer drum is spinning. Also you did not say if your dryer is electric or gas operated. If it is gas you may want to have its thermostat control checked out by a professional. And last would be to see if the control temperature is right for the fabric you are drying.

Happy Holidays!

you should empty the lint trap after every load of drying. also if you haven't done so for a long time you should clean out the vent pipes and hood. that is how house fires get started.

wash your lint trap with soap and water.
if you take your lint trap and run it under water and water isnt going thru - theres your problem. wash it with warm water and soap. it has to be able to breathe in order to work.
