I don't think awareness of the false eliminates the power of it. You can recognize the false but that may not keep you from eliminating it. It just means you've come to the realization that it is false. I've learned that people would rather accept and enjoy that sense of falsness than the truth and that's why it has been able to have the power that it has had over humans for thousands of years.

Awareness is obiviously necessary to bring down a falsehood. But it alone is not always enough. I 've seen people who know that a belief is false but continue believing in it. They deny the truth and where it counts, within.

Usually, but it depends entirely on how strongly the believer believes in "the false."

The theory of evolution is a perfect example. Endless scientific findings, studies, and physical evidence prove that it exists. But creationism -- even after being continuously proved a falsehood -- is still believed.

To a certain extent. To an individual- it's power is gone. However, if it is not recognized by the rest (or majority) of a society, it may still have the power that it derives from those who still believe it to be true.

reminds me of beauty...

hypothetically if you realised that some beauty is an illusion , would it cease to amaze your mind? would its effect be mellowed? it depends on how the false is manifested... sometimes I think the sheer beauty of a manifestation can hold more substance than the truth..

Neither, you have freewill. Nothing exerts its power on you unless you let it , irregardless of its truth or falsehoods.

no, as an example i recognize the deception of advertising but admit sometimes it is persuasive.
