If YOU are planning on reading them i would work on your spelling and comprehension first... If you already have... I wonder if you understood them?

Do any of you read important books?

Well, since you put the question to us in that way, I'll answer you. My ignorance is vast, but I do read important books. The classics that you listed (Dante, Cicero, Plato, Socrates, etc.) are important for some, but for many people they are not, and they may end up hopelessly looking for conservative erotica, or reading all seven of the Harry Potter books.
I have read, am reading, and will read: (Author unknown) Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, Geoffrey Chaucer (Canterbury Tales), and (Author unknown) Beowulf.

I'd like to think I read some important books, yes.

But seriously, what's "important" or not is subjective--what you may think is important may not be what I think is important!

I think many would argue that a lot of classics, and a lot of classical writers like Dante, Plato, et al., aren't as important as they once were--or at least, not important enough to make sure everyone reads them. Unfortunately.
