He is certainly the best in the NFL today. Whether he will surpass Walter Payton remains to be seen, but I think he could very easily be the best ever.

He is well on his way. He has a combination of running styles, running people over, and out running them too. He has a unique combination of power and speed, he is the beset Rb in the NFL right now, and if he can stay healthy he will give all the greats a run for their money. Watch out guys L.T. is going to have many records before its over with. He reached 100 tds faster than anyone, and regularly breaks 1500 yards. He catches the ball great too. Its like Brian Westbrook plus Larry Johnson. No one can deny how great of a guy he is either. He is very humble and team oriented.

This is a tough question to answer. He is definitely a great RB, but numbers arent the only thing that make you the greatest ever. Leadership, sportsmanship, longevity, and consistency are all big factors I think of when I think "who is the best RB in the history of the NFL"..
so he might be one day..but he has a long way to go..

He's good dont get me wrong, but the best in HISTORY!!??Your apparently too young to remember "the greats" or too ignorant to look em up & watch some films of truly the greatest of all time-- jim brown, walter payton, thurman thomas, barry sanders, gayle sayers... just to name a few. Your boy has a ways to go

He has to have a Super Bowl ring to cement that. But compared to Walter Payton and Barry Sanders, no. Wait until he retires.

U r caught up in this year's Chargers success. He is fairly new to the league and has many miles to run before he catches the greats. All u can do is hope he stays healthy and is on a decent team....

Nope. L.T. is great, but listen, Jim Brown, Marcus Allen, Terrel Davis, it goes on. L.T. will be in that group someday, but not better. How about some credit to Lorenzo Neal, and the offensive blockers for San Diego?

I think that if he keeps this up he will be for sure he has all the right features of a great running back it is just going to take time.
