OK I DONT UNDERSTAND THESE PROBLEMS.. HOW DO I CHANGE THEM INTO WORKABLE CONDITION??
THIS IS WHAT THE PAPER SAYS:

MULTIPLY THE FRACTIONS AND LEAVE AWNSERS IN SIMPELEST FORM:

1. 4 2/3 * 2 2/15 =
2. 1 1/4 * 3 1/2 =
3. 3 4/9 * 3 5/6 =

4 2/3, with any number plus a fraction like this, you multiply the denominator (3) by the whole number (4) and add the numerator (2) and this will be your new numerator. Your new fraction will now have this numerator and the old denominator.
=>14/3
This will work every time.
Now the same on the right side is (15*2)+2
=>32/15

They are now both in workable forms for multiplication

To muliply fractions multiply the top by the top and the bottom by the bottom, i.e. (14*32)/(3*15)=448/45

Now divide 448 by 45 and you get 9 with a remainder of 43, so your answer is 9 43/45

If you wanted to add them, you would need both denominators to be the same (the lowest common denominator) = 15. To do this multiply the top and bottom of 14/3 by 5 = 70/15
So 32/15+70/15 would be your question = 102/15 = 6 12/15
= 6 4/5

I could write the answers for you, but u would not gain anything : So I'll help you with the first one and tell you how its done and then u can do the others urself. Fair enough???

4 2/3 * 2 2/15
first take each fraction and simplify it:
4 2/3 is whole no multiplied by denominator and then added to numerator

so 4*3 + 2 = 14
so the first one is simplified as 14/3 and second one 2*15+2 = 32/15

so now multiply the two

14/3 * 32/15 and because 14 and 32 are not multiples of any no that 3 and 15 are multiples of so
14*32 / (3 * 15) = 448/45 = 9 43/45.

See its that simple !

Hope that helped !

Send me ur answers and I shall tell you whether they r right or wrong !

Please don't type in all caps. The reason we have both uppercase and lowercase letters is to lessen the strain of reading, especially for thick blocks of text.

Convert everything into improper fractions first.
