I am a senior in high school and I will be attending Temple University in Philadelphia fall 2007. I don't know what I want to major in. I pretty much like anything besides history and biology. I have an interest in some social sciences; such as economics, psychology, and sociology. I also like the arts; films, music, art, literature. I have a strong interest in physics and math (besides geometry). But I want to have a job relating to business and computers. What major would you recommend? I have thought about engineering, and realized that it would be too hard for me. But IT and economics interest me. I want a job in a city (where I have to wear a suit every day) and something that pays well.. If I could live anywhere, I would pick NYC.... What do you think I should major in?

IT or business, if you want a job. Make sure you take the internship opportunities aroudn your junior year or so. (Minor in something you like, major in something useful - but minoring in something like Chinese or sociology might also be useful.)

If you don't know what you should take for your future then take something along the lines of A Liberal Arts degree this way you have time to feel it out and then decide in the long run what your really want.

There is nothing worse then going for 2 years for Science when you realize that you want to go for Psychology and most of your classes were just waisted time and money since you cant put themtoward yuor new major.

Honestly I would go with Chemistry and Math. You could become a chemical engineer and work for a large company where you would wear a suit and tie. I am currently working on my MBA (Master of Business) and unless you want to further your education and work for a large compay forever I wouldn't get a degree in business. If I could go back I would have gotten my Bachelors in a science field or become a family doctor or surgeon. You really have to set yourself apart these days.

You could look at a degree in stocks and bonds. That's a lot of numbers so you might like it. I hopd I helped.

When I started school I entered as undeclared. My first two semesters I took a smattering of courses that I found interesting while still fulfilling my pre-reqs. I took geology in the spring and loved it (which I hadn't expected). Also, you can research different jobs on the US Department of Labor's website under Occupational Handbook and it will help you find a suitable job for your desired lifestyle.

i think first year is common year, meaning that you don't have to really decide yet, so you can take a little of everything and then see.
