I have a Christmas Sing album which seems like it was at one time broadcast live over the radio. Crosby refers more than one time to a friend named "Skitch". Who is this person?

All the kids of my generation (I'm in my 30s) were beat with objects like paddles, wooden spoons, belts and hands. That doesn't make for a bad father.

He is talking about Skitch Henderson who was once a musical director for Bing Crosby. Crosby gave Skitch his nickname because he could quickly sketch music after hearing it. I love Bing Crosby, isn't he great?!

Yep ! Skitch was his band leader.He had a goatee and was on the list of great bands leaders.

Unfortunately the only thing I know about Bing Crosby was that he was a horrible father who continually beat his children with straps, belts, and other blunt objects.
