It's heavily dependent on time of day (particularly getting out of London...) However, assuming average traffic levels, I'd count on about 2 hours from Central London to Dover, then 90 minutes for a EuroTunnel crossing, 2-3 hours for a ferry crossing (including waiting times), and then about 3h30 on the A16 to Paris.

To be honest, unless you've a particular need to take the car, I'd just get the Eurostar (2h40), and hire a car there if you need to. With fuel, toll and ferry costs, I doubt it'd even be much more expensive - plus, you'd have the steering wheel on the correct side!

Welcome to the world of Ryan Air and Easy Jet!!!! Its amazing how cheap you can fly within Europe, and sometimes trains are just as worth it, you may pay a bit more, but you go from central city to central city, instead of having to go outside of the town to get to the airport. And yes you can drive from London to Paris. You put your car on the train and it takes you in the chunnel, which is around a 20-30min trip under the chunnel, or you can put it on the boat as well, which is what I did when I traveled from London to Paris. And that takes about a little over an hour on the ferry. If I recall. I think its around 6-7hr drive including ferry to get there. I would rather take the train to Paris or just fly there, but train is quicker in my opinion than the airplane.

I did it in 6 hours with a fast bike, you might want to double that if you go by car. The ferry sucks plenty of time
