there is no "presidential candidate" yet. That will not offically be determined until September 2008 at the Republican National Convention. However, if you mean to ask who are the people running for the nomination to be the Republican candidate that includes a list of people. like John McCain, Sen. from AZ., former Gov. George Pataki, NY., Jeb Bush, Gov. of FL. These people are forming what are known as "exploratory committees" to see if there is enough support for them to run. The primaries don't begin until Jan. 2008.

It will wind up being Newt Gingrich. McCain isn't conservative enough to get through the primary. Giuliani isn't either. Romney won't because he isn't conservative enough and he is Mormon. I don't care that he is mormon, but I'm sure that others do. It's a sad reality in politics. Gingrich is conservative and well-spoken and he is very well liked among the Republican base. I'm having a hard time seeing anyone but him take the Republican nomination.

McCain has been preparing himself out of the limelight for a presidential run. I'd vote for him. Don't know who he would run with, though...hmm...I'd take McCain and a banana over any Democratic candidates.

More than one: Mitt Romney, John McCain, possibly Newt Gingrich. They all haven't signaled their intentions yet.
