PLAY GREAT!!!!

If you are an all-round great athelete, an idea would be to not only try the football scholarship, but also the other sports as well. Remember: there are many more people going for football scholarships and basketball scholarships than other sports at the college level.

Try some that are not so well known. Especially something you can play in the off season.

First, have someone with a camcorder make a tape of you in all of your games. Don't be shy about putting together a highlight tape and shipping copies all over the place. Include not just pancake blocks, but even things that show your footwork and you being light on your feet.

If you have good size and footwork, they'll find you.

As for your technique, develop a mean streak. That guy across from you is NOT your friend. He wants to embarrass you in front of your family, friends and teammates and would love nothing more than to ruin any shot you might have at a scholarship.

Rule #1: No excuses, play like a champion

If you're a good player, you'll get noticed no matter what position you play. You really think that college scouts only look at the guy carryin the ball for 8 yards a clip and not the big guys clearin the way?

Ask your coach to start sending some of your game film out to colleges...have your parents do some recruiting for you. But to be an offensive lineman in college you have to make sure to be noticed in High School. Just play your hardest and get your name out there to colleges and the recruiters will show up. I gaurantee it.

First of all you have to give 110%. Well actually so many people are giving 110% these days that you might consider giving as much as 115%, or even 120%. But don't give more than 120%, because then you'll fall into a higher tax bracket.

I would say be the best player you can be. Give 100% all the time. Show solid leadership and most importantly, show you are mature enough to balance athletics with studies. Then you should discuss the scholarship issue with your coaches and guidance councilors as they will be able to give you further guidance.

Hope that helps.

Play like a pro. Protect the QB and catch the ball when it is thrown to you. Be a good sport. also try to get touchdowns as much as possible. Do not allow interceptions. That should be sure success. :o)

Video tape some of your best moves....
play well, not once in a while, but all the time.
If you mess up...go on, just like any athlete, you move forward and not look at the last play, but the next on coming and how to make it better.
You'll be great in no time....Have faith in yourself and sometimes praying helps.

You have to pancake big time linemen. You also have open huge holes for your running backs and protect your quarterback. the coaches will see the film and notice you as a great blocker.
