You last two lines spell it all out. Excitement is over-rated because it does fade away.
Looks it sounds like you might sit around waiting for guys to act - either texting you, calling you, asking you out, maybe even giving presents or whatever. Are you a little passive in relationships. Maybe you need a relationship upgrade to a "we" relationship. They take time and patience and pacing. Sure excitement is there at first but there are other more important aspects that make the two people a unit when the initial excitement and hotness wears off. Mutual respect, reciprical kindness, common interests and value systems and a profound desire to be in the other person's presence. Keep your chin up.

But when it is exciting its the best feeling in the world and nothing can compare to it....for a moment in time you experience something special with another person and that cannot be undone
You know what they say...'its better to have loved and lost...than to have never loved at all..'

I think not, and hope not! The other things you describe are not actually love I would say but the process of finding the right person.
Check out www.willhecall.com for distractions and pick me ups for those very situations you describe!

The word "love" is overused and most don't understand what it actually defines. No offense, but I don't think that you have actually ever experienced love.
Real love is worth all the pain and effort that it takes to find and maintain. And even finding it can take a lifetime...

nikki it would seem to me you pick the wrong guys there are a lot of good men out there so don;t go picking them up in bars and n/clubs wait until someone introduces you to someone you fancy you sound and write as if your very young so you've got your whole life before you.

Love like life has its ups and downs and we should never allow the "downs" to affect our lives that much as we can still find better love elsewhere.

Mmmm! Doesn't say much for what you refer to as 'Love' - or is that 'love' or even - love ....!
Maybe finding out what 'that' word that you perhaps use too freely ~ could possibly mean, would help you ~ maybe help you to be more discriminating in its usage in the future.
Is it a possible?
Sash.
