+ I suppose that wood is renewable at a faster rate than natural gas. If you mean methane then that would be a different story.

Use what gives you the best bang for the buck.
Natural Gas heating is the most efficient type of heating, If you have a decent wood stove (not a fireplace.) your heating efficiency goes up substantial but still is not on par with a 95% NG furnace. Solar is the most costly and unless you have a way to retain the heat on cloudy days you are S.O.O.L.. (sh*t out of luck)..

What do you prefer you want green put on more clothes and blankets but I would go with natural gas yes it does exhaust fumes to a small degree but at least you are not cutting down trees which absorb carbon dioxide and create oxygen

Both are natural resources. We prefer the natural gas. It is cleaner, efficient control of temperature. No carrying wood in. We love it.

it depends on the eficiency of the unit. one is a renewable rescource that tends to cuntribute more heavily to the greenhouse effect by giving off a higher level of carbon per btu delevered to the space the other is a nonrenewable rescourse that can be burned extreemly eficiently. in some cases 100%!! (gas fireplaces with no exhaust flue, they look like tv screens and are available in Europe)

Both use up our natural resources pretty much equally. Solar heat is greener.
