The Bellagio, the Wynn, the Venetian & Ceasar's Palace are the most expensive and the most posh. All 4 are extremely fancy as well. If you enjoy the high life & finer things in life, stay at one of those 4. If you want to save $200-$400 per night, stay at MGM Grand or Mandalay Bay. Mandalay Bay is really cool and has a "shark reef" at the hotel. It also has one of the best pool's in Vegas. MGM is very nice too and is HUGE. They have a good pool too and you can access the monorail right from the hotel. The Luxor is a nice hotel as well, and you can stay there or TI for less than the others that you mentioned. The Luxor & TI are still WAY nicer than most hotels in the world, but because its Vegas, they are probably 3 stars whereas Mandalay & MGM are 4 and the other 4 hotels listed would be 5 stars. You really can't go wrong with any of the hotels you listed. Paris & NYNY are also really nice.

Honestly, if I wanted fabulous, I'd consider the Venetian, which is stunningly gorgeous. The Bellagio is elegant, but almost too genteel. TI is fun, and has a nice atmosphere. The same with Luxor, which has great rides and an IMAX show. Mandalay Bay is all about the "beach", so it's great if you want to swim and sun. MGM Grand is horrendously huge, and I have to say I wouldn't stay anywhere that feels so much like a monster mall. I'm guessing you want more romantic, and not with kids? Avoid going during any school break times (summer, Christmas, Easter), and then any place you choose will seem more civilized. Also, make sure you read up at www.vegas.com and www.vegas4visitors.com for up-to-date information because everything in Vegas changes constantly. Honestly, I go 2 or 3 times a year and have learned to research out of necessity. (And I keep noticing that people who respond in Answers are giving opinions about Las Vegas that are years out of date!)

Aloha from Down Unda!
Congratulations for your thoughtfulness & please accept our suggestions from an 'older' point of view. Here's an answer to another question just posted moments ago to render some insights -
"...1st trip was cross country bicentenial (1976) with only a few hours when Fremont was still open for traffic. Took advantage of plenty of 'comps', [free stuff] & had an exceptionally fun, cheap wonderful introduction. Then in 94 we stayed several days at the new Stratosphere, during a vacation from Honolulu. We had so much fun that we returned in 96 for more than a week at the Tropicanna & the Stratosphere. In 2004 we traveled from Australia to spend 6 fabulous nights at Ceasar's Palace [won in a contest] & another 2 weeks at the Stratosphere. Our next trip is in Feb 07 for a month in a 'Vacation Rental by Owner' (VRBO) to avoid those high hotel rates! We don't gamble much but LOVE all the shopping - ..."
We would suggest that you 'visit' ALL of the places you've mentioned & be sure to quadrupple the list with 'The Stratosphere', 'ParisLasVegas' & 'NewYorkNewYork' among the top from a VRBO! The savings will assure your enjoyment & enable you to 'live large' at more diverse activities. Without a fine dining experience atop the Strat & Paris, it's just a shame! We found Vacation Rentals By Owners while being frustrated in finding a hotel under $4000 for a month while most won't recognise reservations of more than 14 days. It's exciting to SAVE 3 grand while enabled to enjoy a kitchenette for a month. [When traveling 14-18 hours on a plane each way from Australia, it just isn't smart to spend less than a month!]
K-den, Merry Christmas!

uncertain how low of a funds you're speaking or in case you prefer to be on the Strip or are keen to be off, and so on. on the Strip Tropicana is an older place which you will get for rather inexpensive Flamingo in case you're keen to pass up slightly in value, that's been reworked and has very superb rooms Off the Strip Downtown places are rather inexpensive although i've got not been in any of their rooms to comprehend what the rooms are like. I think of Golden Nugget might have first rate rooms. close to the airport on Paradise Rd there's a hotel, i prefer to declare terrific Western or something like that. that's in uncomplicated terms some million mile from the Strip and the rooms are superb sufficient.

Expedia.com has very reasonable rate on vacation packages to Vegas. My friends stayed at the Bellagio for 4 nights with airfare from the east cost for under $600 each.

pyramid suite at the luxor, not too expensive, but really nice. its on the corners of the actual pyramid part of the hotel, there's a little "living room" and a hot tub. (dont stay in the towers, no fun) and you get to go into the elevator, it goes sideways (well, diagonal) instead of up/down.

Nothing like The Venetian, next best thing to being in Venice, Italy, the most romantic city on Earth.
