It started in 1950 and ended at the end of 1959 and they did not have computers or web pages.
Women wore mainly dresses and had their hair shoulder length.
Men wore shirts and turnup trousers (Jeans had not been made)
Only really english food and not convenience food.
Not many imports, except for Bananas.
Smoking was promoted, it was cool to smoke.
Music was general melodies, no pop until 1959
Families stayed together and housing was hard to get.
Not many varieties of chocolate or breakfast cereals.
Not many airlines and no foreign holidays.
Not many supermarkets
Not so much news coverage
Not many televisions

When I think about the 50's I think about poodle skirts, bobbie socks, black and white saddle shoes, pink appliances in the kitchen, white t-shirts with cigarettes rolled up in the sleeves, greasy hair, duck tail hair cuts, pony tails, tight sweaters, rotary dial phones, f-a-s-t cars, drive in movies, b/w tv, Leave it to Beaver families, Blueberry Hill by Fats Domino, and tv dinners!
