What is racism? Is racism when someone calls you a bad name? No, that is called bigotry. If a white person does not like me then that is his problem but when they collectively have the power to keep me from getting a lone or moving into a home or getting a job etc, than that is Racism. Too many people think that bigotry and racism is the same thing. I could call a white person “whitey, whitey, whitey all day long but that will not effect that white person’s ability to achieve employment one bit. But when whites consider me to be a “N”word, they shut me out of their society. The only functioning system of Racism in America is White Supremacy. What do you think?

You make a very valid point. Racism is not just an individual opinion, racism is an institution in this country. The only way for white people to maintain power is to maintain racism.

You cannot defeat racism by changing the way a person thinks because a racist will always be a racist no matter what you do. The only way to defeat racism is to challenge the institution that condones racism; the government.

I am white. No it is not proper for you or any human being to be discriminated against. I am in business I see one color and that is green. I don't think it is fair that people are grouped in cultures and have these haneous acts committed to them. On the flipside I don't think we can apply to the United ***** College fund either. Here in Pennsylvania, I cant take the State Highway patrol test and receive points for being a minority, which there are points given for this. There are unfortunate things that happen to all of us. Be that as it may, to blacks, gays, whatever, we have along way to go in this great nation. It is unfortunate but we must work together to prevent it from happening. I am also gay by the way. I understand the discrimination factor. Good luck to you and God Bless

I'm sorry to have to say, but your post IS racism at its finest. You're blaming the white people for you not being able to be employed, but what about such blacks as Condoleeza Rice for example, who is employed in politics!!! (the white man's game) And I'm white and she has a waaaaayyy better job then I'll probably see in my entire life.

Just to make my point, don't you think it might have ANYTHING to do with how you handle yourself on interviews, your education (or lack thereof). I mean, you couldn't even spell a 4-letter word correctly (loan...you wrote 'lone') So that speaks masses for you and why you are currently unemployed. Don't blame 'whitey' for your issues.

I partially agree. Racism is exclusion against a particular race or inclusion of a particular race. Bigotry is against anything or anyone different from your preference. You can be bigoted against midgets or women, but you can't be racist against them. So while I agree that excluding ANYONE from anything based on their race is Racism, I also think any comment or slander based on race is a form of racism. Don't get caught up in black vs. white though. I will though agree that that may be the most prominent form of racism, but it exists in all races, between all races. To say that White Supremacy is the only form of racism, is in and of itself, a racist remark. It is racist to say that only white people can be racist.

Black Rage'

I understand your pain; However, you have to beat them at there own game. Ignore them, that hurts, then they look like the fool. Also have you ever tryed praying for them. I am not saying that I disagree with you, because I don't. I just believe you deal with it up front and on the spot. Never let the sun go down with you feeling bad about what someone has done to you. It could cause major medical problems. Believe me, for I am a witness to what I am saying to you. May God Bless you.

its' usually comes from a history of the names being used racially. it's disrespect. i dont' call white people n's and neither should i call black people that. why would it even be a word in yoru vocab unless you are thinking about blacks or white's in a certain way to want to call them n's or whitey/cracker.
