If you are really interested in learning about the Kennedy Assassination, and not just swallowing the latest conspiracy laden batch of cool aid being promoted by the wack jobs who know nothing about the event, then the books, "The Death of a President" and "Case Closed" are about as good as you are going to find. Otherwise there are conspiracy theories that involve everything from the Vice President being behind the killing to Cubans, the Mafia, Alien time travelers, the secret service guard detail and a militant homosexual underground,,,okay, I made up the time travelers but all the others are legit conspiracy theories that have generated at least one book and sometimes several.
Here is the thing to try to keep in mind. All of those conspiracy theories have one thing in common and that is that they have absolutely no, (none, zero, nada zip, squat) evidence to back them up. All the evidence in the case points to the shots coming from high, behind and to the right of the limo. In other words, from the Texas School Book Depository building where Lee Harvey Oswald was seen shooting from the sixth floor window at the presidential motorcade as it passed.
The wounds inflicted on President Kennedy are consistent with the rifle that Oswald was using and the rounds were a ballistic match. Some claim that the manner in which the president's head snaps back indicates that the shots came from the front without understanding enough about wound pathology, ballistics or physics to realize that the head behaving as it does is actually proof that the shots came from behind. Oswald had more than enough time to get off the three shots that were fired and recreations have shown time and time again that anyone who is even a decent shot could have done it and Oswald was a Marine Corps marksman.
The real problem with saying that it was Oswald is that it isn't an exciting answer and isn't going to sell a lot of books. Now claiming that there is a militant homosexual underground afoot in the land who is able to murder the chief of state because they felt threatened by his masculinity,,,now that's a page turner.
People have always had a difficult time allowing their heros to die. To some folks Elvis is secretly working at a donut shop in Michigan, Jesse James faken his death and lived to the age of 107 and Amelia Earhart is a retired house wife living in Cleveland. When those heros die publicly and the death can't very well be denied a massive conspiracy to explain the death is invented,,, although there was a story that circulated for a few years about President Kennedy being kept alive as a vegetable on some Greek Island. The truth is never as much fun. Jesse James really was shot by Robert Ford in 1882, Amelia Earhart drowned and Elvis died on the crapper at Graceland. Sorry to burst any bubbles but Lee Harvery Oswald killed JFK.
I can't say that Oswald wasn't working for someone although I doubt it. Oswald was the sort of guy whom you wouldn't select to take out the trash without expecting him to find some way to screw it up. He was a success in only one thing in his entire life and that was killing President Kennedy, and Dallas Police Officer J.D. Tippet, the killing of Tippet came later that day and in front of half a dozen witnesses so you can forget about Oswald being an innocent patsy as some claim. Again, I can't say for sure about Oswald not being put up to it by someone but he strikes me as the last guy you would select for something like that. He really was a loner looser of the first order and Jack Ruby killed Oswald out of a confused belief that he was shielding the president's widow from having to testify at Oswald's trial.
There isn't anything all that mysterious about the case other than how it is that so many, otherwise same, folks have fallen for the conspiracy theories. Oliver Stone's historical joke of a movie "JFK" is part of the problem. He got so many facts wrong in that film that it might as well be listed under the fantasy section at Blockbuster Video. It wasn't until the new, and borderline retarded, 9/11 conspiracy theories began making the rounds that the Kennedy Assassination fell back into second place as the conspiracy theory of choice among the metally challenged.
Bottom line, if we were playing Clue the winning answer would be Lee Havey Oswald, with a rifle, from the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository building.

It was a conspiracy. Five years after JFK's brains were scattered all over a limo, his brother who was running for President was murdered as well. What are the odds of that happening? It took more than a loser like Lee Harvey Oswald to get and keep two Kennedy brothers out of the White House.

Lee Harvey Oswald was supposed to have killed Kennedy. Many people think there was a conspiracy by then vice-president Lyndon Johnson and several others.
Bet you didn't know that Kennedy had a kidney ailment that would have killed him in a few years had he not been assassinated.

There are several books on the subject and some good ones at that. My father-in-law did a book review for the Milwaukee Journal of one that had coroner photos and transcripts in it. I'm guessing about 10 to 12 years ago.. Robert Groden's "The Killing of A President".

The answer remains unanswered...I do remember seeing on the History Channel a few weeks ago they recreated the scene using computers and were able to "prove" that it was not a conspiracy, however they missed a few points in the explanation.

All the facts as we know them point to Lee Oswald. None of the 'conspiracy theories' have ever been proved to have any basis of truth in them.

Yes, JFK was killed by a lone gunman, but there is no way he was not working for someone. I believe he was working for someone in the government.

WIthout a doubt Oswald and he acted alone as no one else has been charged, the comspiracy theories are just that. Jack Ruby was a mystery but he was full of hate.
