Even if the school doesn't have a record (pretty flaky - no off-site backup!) I still wouldn't give up. When I was teaching I kept my "grade book" (aka excel spreadsheet) for years after classes. Sometimes students appeal grades, or need to make up an incomplete. Try to track down the instructor before you give up. In these circumstances, I would think even a grade printout from the mail should be good enough. Good Luck!

I would absolutely fight that. You earned those credits, and because the university where you attended had no backup policy (or at least not a reliable one) you should not be made to suffer. Take it to the state's higher authority commision. Ban together with other students who have experienced the same problem.

Which college were you attending. It seems like your transcripts would be somewhere. Have you gotten loans or anything like that. That is one thing I am glad didn't happen to me. I keep track of all my info and stuff just in case though. You can never be too safe especially living in Louisiana.

That is really to bad. I guess it depends on how you feel about trying to have a career w/o a college degree...but it can be really hard to do that now. Best wishes to you.

Do you have proof or backup copies? You should start over.
