No fans, little income. Probably no or very small cable TV deal. Unfortunately a new stadium will not change any of this.

The owner wants a new stadium and is not going to get it so he will not spend a lot of cash on payrole. Attendence is also poor. However the Marlins have been series champs twice under his ownership. Mainly by using there farm system and the draft. so I think they will be challenging soon. They should have kept Giradi though, his departure has put them back a year in there quest for more series glory.

they aren't:
they have a genius idea of having a small salery and in a few years they can get anybody they want because they will have the money. they have done the same thing before and it worked the last time. they win the world series then they have a "fire sale." where they sell all of their big salary players. they get a world series team years later and after they win they do the whole thing over again.

if you want to know the truth...there are two ways of runnning a team and one of them is to make your bottom line the bottom line...they make what they want to make and the team suffers...the idea that the marlins will turn this around isnt in there hands...they have to sell the team with good players and take chance they will win....winning is the key and tohave a successfull team they have to win, so break the bank get the loan and put a winning product on the field...otherwise its looks as though your cheap....lower the bottom line

It's funny as cheap as they are they have 2 world series rings. The owner must be doing something right.

1. Our President is nuts
2. We sign younger players who cost less
3. We are trying to invest money for a new stadium

They do not get the fan support they deserve for one thing. The other is that every time they put together a winner, the owner disbands the team. Somehow, that should not be allowed.

Chow!!

It's not the richest team in baseball, jeez. Not everyone can afford the regular player salary of today. And I think they're a pretty good team. They just have too much competition to make it.

I think the owner is trying to pressure the city into financing a new stadium.
