Take out the lenses first, then take off your makeup. I got contacts over the summer and that is what the person at Lenscrafters told me. I tried to take my makeup off first with the lenses in and the lenses moved all over the place.

If your makeup is so close to your eye that when you take it off..you could get a little on the actual lense..just be careful.
Make sure you clean it off before puting it back in.
You don't want any makeup left on there to scratch your cornea.
So it really does not matter.

Many people prefer to wear contact lenses instead of spectacles, for aesthetic reasons. If contact lenses are not worn properly, they can cause irritation or infection of the eye. There are different types of contact lenses available. To reduce infection, wash and dry your hands thoroughly before handling the contact lenses. Replace the lenses as recommended.More details and remedies at http://eye-care.in/contactlens.html

Lenses out first. Then remove make-up. You might get something in your eye when removing make-up and you wouldn't want to infect your contacts also. Play it safe.

contacts, then make-up. if you take off the make-up first, you run the risk of 1) getting make-up remover in your eyes and 2) pushing your contact into the back of your eye.
