I have a theory... the property owners rent a crane... a man (like in Mission Impossible) rigged out on high tech gear dangles from the end of the crane. With a great deal of effort he pounds in the "Do not Walk on Grass" sign. This is a very pricey service, as it is very important not to disturb the individual blades of grass or to subject them to undue pressure. Gravity is against them already.

Please note that the mowing procedure is even more complex.

(Either that, or the buggers walk on their own grass.)

The original sign reads "do --- walk on the grass" then this guy, once the sign is on it's place, paints the "no" and walks away inmmediately !!

Well they are usually put on the edge of the grass, but for the ones that are actually in the middle, they are put there before the grass sprouts.

They use helicopters and hover a few hundred feet above the grass and then throw down the signs with great force, hopefully not hitting any innocent bystanders or guilty ones for that matter.

They are put there before the grass grows in or after it is installed.
