Unfortunately, sometimes when you are quiet and shy, people think that you are stuck up. Try and make conversation with others.... if you don't, people will form a bad opinion of you.

"still waters run deep" is a common expression that some people think about quiet people. I guess it means that some people think quiet people are sort of intense. Maybe not unfriendly, but they may hesitate to approach them, thinking they don't want to be engaged in conversation because they are absorbed in thought. I guess the only thing I can suggest is to keep a smile and a nod ready, and that will let people know you are willing and ready to talk, even if you hesitate to start a conversation yourself.

I'm the same as you...quite quiet & quite shy but if you're worried people will think of you unfriendly, try and make yourself louder & so you can be heard. Thats what i'm doing & if you're worried no one wants 2 talk...talk to them. I did this dance thing over the last few weeks & today during our filming of it, loads of people talked to me because I started talking to them & I was less quiet, so thats probably why they talked to me.
Hope you understand where I'm coming from & Hope it helps.
REMEMBER- JUST SPEAK UP!!
xx

I don't know never talked to them. LOL. Ok for real quiet people sometimes come off as snobbish now I know that is not true because I know a lot of people and relatives of mine who are considered "quiet" and are the nicest people in the world they are just shy. Once they get to know you they talk your ear off. Now when I was a child I was "quiet" or as I would say shy I think for the most part I still am shy but I encourage myself to be more socialable. Ok does this explanation make any sense?

An old saying from the book written by Kahlil Gabran....." The Prophet ". ......you speak when you are no longer at peace with your thoughts.
Sometimes by being quiet and listening to others speak...you learn a lot about them.
I don't know how old you are ....but one day someone who appreciates your quietness will approach you because of it. They will already have known everyone else who has spoken..... but your quiteness will be a mystery for those who wish to seek it out.

I'm the same way. Sometimes people tend to think that I'm just arrogant or standoffish. If others took the time to get to know me, rather than passing judgement or forming opinions based on afar observations they wouldn't misinterpret my mannerisms
Don't worry so much about what narrowminded people in general think. Just continue to be yourself . I'm sure that the people that are already close to you, truly appreciate you for who you are. Never change who you are for anyone. Sure, there is always room for improvement, but, enhance who you are ..... Don't ever change who you are. Open minded people that are intelligent & understand others will respond to you favorably. Continue to be yourself and focus on people that take the time to want to get to know you by reaching out to you.

Still waters run deep. My husband is a quiet man when you first meet him. I have learned that some people are smart enough to keep quiet unless they have something important to say. Those are the people watchers.

I love shy people. Most of my friends are quiet and somewhat shy, and all of my boyfriend's are. I love trying to pry people out of their shell. I'm friendly and outspoken by nature, and it's not a big deal if the people I'm around aren't. I just go out of my way to talk to and include them that much more. =)
You have to give people a chance, you can't judge a book by it's cover.

I am the absolute same way. People started to think I was crazy. They were saying anyone who smiles all the time must be sick in the head. I thought, what a dummy. I smile because I'm happy. Happy about life in general.
