short hair is less likely to get stuck in the muck and mire one has to crawl through to get to the top - besides from the back they are easily mistaken for men - from the waist up

Because by the time they get to an age where they can hold a position of power, they are past the 'girlish' stage of wanting long locks. Most older women look better with a shorter style and are intelligent enough to no longer care about all the maintenance that goes into keeping long hair.

Someone years ago came up with the "professional" standard that women with long hair portray a feminine attitude, do not look or behave professional enough by a man's standards, and if you want to play the game, you have to adhere to the rules. That is why we women with long hair wear our hair up at work and let it flow off the clock.

Good question !!!

I have that long hair and usually wear it up wit business doings. I simply get more respect than when I have it down. Men AND women seem to think long hair is a sexy, less intelligent way to wear hair.

I am powerful in my life and businesses. My hairs means nothing but I go into it knowing how others think and therefore fool them and get what I want! : )

criticism == Sexism. that's no longer 2008 the place people accused people who did no longer vote for Obama as being racist. saying Bernie could make a extra suitable candidate for President isn't sexist, saying Hillary Clinton is a corporatist hack isn't sexist, saying Hillary hasn't been consistent on her positions like Bernie has isn't sexist. Does sexism exists? sure yet like racism that's existence is blown out of proportion by ability of the information.

Long hair is for frivolous, younger women...long hair does not imbue confidence in ones intelect...As women get older they go for shorter styles....Longer hair is girlish. Imagine Hilary with locks like Britney.

Long hair is pretty and feminine, but it's hard to send the "I mean business" message when beautiful strands are getting caught in the teeth. :Q
