It depends on how strict or laid-back the parents are. They are usually more lenient nowadays, but mine were strict and wouldn't allow me to even watch Pretty Woman. Also, I probably wouldn't allow my 2 yr old to play those kind until she was at least 16.

ive been buying m rated games since i was like 10 or 11. as long as my parents know i no that theyre fine with it. depends on how stict your parents are and if they know u no not to do whats in the game

Excellent Question.
I feel if your parents buy you a game, game system, iPod etc. then:

1) They are not aware of this rating
2) They have no clue to what the rating means
3) They buy something for the "children" to shut them up etc.
4) They buy these products because "its the in thing"
5) They buy it in-order to "baby sit" you.

I'm sure the list could go on.
