In addition to reading great books, I like reading great poetry, too. :) Which poets and works do you enjoy reading the most?

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow is my favorite of all poets. For me, his poems evoke a keener sense of the world around me than anyone else's. They are less full of social commentary than of the wonder of the world.
Though I also enjoy Browning, Frost, Wordsworth and Kilmer.

Thanks for asking....nice question.

Walt Whitman! I love the sense of immediacy and urgency in his poetry. The empathy for mankind that comes through in his writing is remarkable (although I don't know this always translated in to his real life.) 'Crossing Brooklyn Ferry' is my favorite of his poems -- it is thrilling! It makes me feel like Whitman is looking at me over my shoulder. But really, his ability to connect with you as a reader is unparalleled in my opinion. Read 'Crossing Brooklyn Ferry' here http://www.bartleby.com/142/86.html

e.e. cummings

I like his fun writing style and the feelings he gives to each thing he writes about. He is a bit quirky a little bit strange, but I love that about his poetry.

Buffalo Bill's defunct (doesn't really actually have a name for this poem...just what I call it) is my favorite poem by him
