They do. Just look at any poll rating. The only supporters he has left would still back him no matter what. That's the trouble with true believers. If they were Mohammedans they'd be suicide bombers

Everyone keeps using a poll number for bush approval but nobody reads the the other poll numbers on that same census.. It says 18% agree with bush. but 16 % think the Dem's have a better answer. 52 % agree that what we are doing is something that needs to be done. but 70 % say we shouldn't be doing it because the cost doesn't justify the means.
let me translate. most people dont agree with bush but most people say the other side doesn't fix the problem either. (society doesn't know whats going on) most people think it is necessary but most people think it will cost too much to do what is necessary. (again conflicting)
Now some historical fact. in 1940 there was a gallop poll before pearl harbor that said the exact same thing. people were asked if we should get involved in WWII and the same exact numbers came out. It was needed but the cost wasn't worth the effort.
People agree that something needs to be done but because there is no direct effect so far we cant afford it.
Its a wait and see attitude, and it causes more death in the long run.
we are in the position of the English in this war. read about Churchill and what was going on with him in the 1930s. he was fighting the good fight and was being vilified for it. People cant see the future and understand that proactive response is the only way to protect our interests.

I agree that the President has lost a significant amount of credibility due to the war, but I do think that it's important for people to show him respect. You can respect someone without agreeing with or backing them. And at this point, his "worthiness" really makes little difference because the damage is done and it is extremely unlikely that he will be charged with anything this late in his term. That's not to say that it's excusable -because it's not- but the reality is that there is not enough time or will to make anything of it.

I may agree, I DO agree, but just saying so doesn't change anything, does it? His political capital came from telling us what we wanted to hear while doing what his handlers told him to do. He sounded credible. Even when I knew he was lying, he still had my respect. As the lies become obvious, the credibility is vanishing. I no longer respect him at all.
Stay tuned. As more of us are becoming more aware, the ride is getting pretty wild. I believe he will be impeached, which is only my opinion. If he isn't, I believe we will lose all pretense of democracy here, & in the world. Again, only my opinion. Time will tell.

What qualifies you to make that statement. Is that your expert biased opinion. Bush is doing the best job possible, given his lack of support.

Just wait until more evidence regarding Iraq, 9/11, and electronic voting come out. Dubya's gonna be screwed!

People are scared because Bush adminstration raises the color level every few months just to scare people and to keep believing that they are protecting us... when in actuality the war in Iraq will create far more enemies in the future.
