My first duty station with my husband was weird. Yes on my block there was 4 houses with people that cheat on their spouse, but dont pay no attention to it my kids arent in a mess and it is cheaper to stay on post and SAFER to do so. See me and my husband dont get to know our neighbors we know the people he works with thats it. Trust me on this! Military housing is the best way to go. Just tell your fiance that you dont care about other people's life out there. There is alot of people that want to get into your business though specially military wives. I made that mistake of getting to know my street and lets just say they tried to get my son taken away from me just for going to the mail box in my yard! yea so dont get to know your neighbors know people from his work bc most but NOT ALL have nothing else better to do then to try to ruin some other wife's life bc they are living it better. Trust me you want to live on housing i saved 588 a month from living on post.

There are people cheating on their spouses everywhere. It doesn't just happen in Military housing!
It's noticed more because spouses are gone for long periods of time and the one left behind doesn't care to work as hard at hiding it, like people would if their mate came home every night.
Also, a lot of stories that go around about things that happen are simply Stories. It's the result of bored and lonely housewives creating drama to make their own life seem better. People create rumors even in civilian communities.
The benefits of living in base housing far out weigh the negatives.
There are crazy neighbors everywhere. Military neighborhoods just seem to have their craziness out in the open more than others :)

I use to live in Norfol VA and alls I can say is they call the wives of the guys who go out for their 6 month mediterranian cruis " MED CRUISE WIDOWS" Why? Cuz as soon as their man ships out they r out screwing around with new guys on the side! My hubby was 16 years military and I never once joined a wives club because there was soooo much cheating and laying going on! BUT they are not all like that Im sure! I agree- we lived off base and I was sooooo much happier! Good luck to u

No, it's not FULL of them, but like anywhere else, they are there. I don't think it matters where you live - you will either be faithful or you won't. The benefit to living in military housing is the support you will receive being with others in the same situation as yourself. So, it comes down to this - does your fiance trust you or not? If he doesn't, perhaps you shouldn't get married in the first place...

It would be a lot cheaper, and no I don't think it's like a culture. Does cheating happen? Sure but not because you live on a military base.

She should have already filed the divorce first off. Doesn't matter what she was told. Talk to JAG and a civilian lawyer and if you can and if you can contant his commanding officer do that to. With the chain of command thing problems have away of getting handled at the lowest level possible so someone is trying to hide this.

So very true. As soon as your man is out the door for training, your door will be knocked on by every guy around wanting to hit on you.
