Red House by Jimi Hendrix.
The song may not be depressing but the lyrics can make you feel for the guy.
Oh but there's a twist at the end!!!

How about "Heaven knows I'm miserable now" - By "The Smiths"

If you don't know it - google for the lyrics - though don't antiticipate a cheerful uplifiting experience if you do.

Another possibility might be the one about V Van Gogh's suicide - Starry Starry night.

Hello,

Barber's "Adagio for Strings" is very powerful in a solemn beauty type of way, some moments you'll almost smile, then others almost cry, like if someone you really cared for passed away, you miss them (the sadness), then the bittersweet memories of the great times.

there's also the feeling of "ending" found in this track, "October Harvest" (Track #8)

Defintely "Alone Again, Naturally" by Gilbert O'Sullivan. That has to be the most depressing song ever! What WAS he thinking when he wrote it??
