Aloha from Down Unda!
Yup! 1st trip was cross country bicentenial (1976) with only a few hours when Fremont was still open for traffic. Took advantage of plenty of 'comps', [free stuff] & had an exceptionally fun, cheap wonderful introduction. Then in 94 we stayed several days at the new Stratosphere, during a vacation from Honolulu. We had so much fun that we returned in 96 for more than a week at the Tropicanna & the Stratosphere. In 2004 we traveled from Australia to spend 6 fabulous nights at Ceasar's Palace [won in a contest] & another 2 weeks at the Stratosphere. Our next trip is in Feb 07 for a month in a 'Vacation Rental by Owner' (VRBO) to avoid those high hotel rates! We don't gamble much but LOVE all the shopping - 99cent stores, FashionShowMall & ALL the surrounding shopping malls & good ole 'homesick cures' such as Jack-in-the-Box, L&L Drive In, Vons, Walmart, Dillards, Ross, television, Hershey's & of course,
S E R V I C E [with a real smile]!
If our Beachpark home in Australia wasn't so beautiful & inexpensive, we would probably LIVE in Las Vegas!
[We're seriously contemplating relocation to Las Vegas with the shabby shopping, pitiful tv & lack of service here.]
Yup, we WOULD ever go to Las Vegas!

I have been going there for New Years for the past 6 years. I also go at various times during the late fall and winter. I avoid it in the summer based on the heat.

Trying to go see Prince in Vegas soon! I love Vegas, but do not stay at the Riviera. Nasty!

Vegas is fun but 2 nights tops, after that it starts getting old. Winters are pretty brutal, too cold for me; goes right through you. I don't mind the summer, in July it was about 100 and dry, that way you can pool and spa it in the day and see the rest (gamble, eat, drink, see shows, etc) at night.
