The biggest fear is that we have no real way to tell what the outcomes are, including 'tipping points' where we end up in intractable situations that cannot be cured. For example: Oceans rise by 300 feet (ice melts worldwide - already in progress); wars due to resource shortages (check in with Africa & the Colorado river); killing off a vital element in the food chain (such as oceanic krill).

Ironically, few of us will personally be a victim - but our children and grandchildren may curse us for our stupidity. We already know that many will suffer and die in the long term; it's only a question of how many.

Of course, what infuritates me most is those who don't "believe" in global warming - it's kind of like not "believing" in gravity. These folks could care less about the future - or our descendents.

Mr William S is running with half truths, and smearing Bush only proves that. The truth is: The trends look as if the world is possible going through some sort of a change that may or may not be caused or affected by mankind. The earth has gone through many drastic changes in the last few billion years, and considering that humans had no part in any of them, I think it is pretty irresponsible to assume we are to blame now. Especially for obvious political reasons. Anyone that is afraid of the theory of global warming should really reconsider their priorities. Everyone should just use common sense in regards to consumption, don't contribute in overpopulating the world, and enjoy life.

How's about altering the global climate in a way that will make the world unable to sustain it's current growing population.

Not to mention global flooding as ocean levels rise.
