There are many websites in China that offer free downloads of music, just be aware that a gift comes with the download. The gift is a virus that takes control of your PC.

DONT DOWNLOAD LIMEWIRE! i had it for awhile and it takes forever to connect and start downloading music and w/e else. The best program to go with is Ares! it has the best results and downloads a lot quicker than anything esle.
Also torrents is the very last option to go for! it take atleast 5 times longer than the other programs!

Get into torrents.
That's the newest fad in file sharing.
Plus they bundle whole albums and even discographies together so you aren't searching out song after song only to have downloaded a bunch of fakes.
If you really like a band go see them in concert and buy their shirts/merchandise.
They make more on that stuff than any of the CD sales.
Even Lars will agree to that! lol

Limewire is really the best
It makes the most sense because people all over the world SHARE music,i.e when you join limewire you get songs from other users PC,and other users get songs from yours,so its faster,and there is never any problem of the song not being available.

Limewire is much faster than the other programs out these days, and easy to use. Compared to the others I've tried (Bearshare, Morpheus, Kazaa, Napster), Limewire definately takes the cake. You can get it at downloads.com or limewire.com. Happy Downloading!

There's a couple of things you can do. You can just get a program like limewire for filesharing (www.limewire.com) or you can use bit.torrents which require a program like azureus (az-or-us). limewire is probably the easiest, if it doesnt come free at that site - go to www.download.com and you can search for it (and other free programs).

You can download illegally from P2P sources such as Limewire, etc. MyTunes Redux is a program that will copy songs from the shared songs on your network (iTunes).

I have both success with Bearshare and Limewire. They are programs so you will have to download them but with a DSL connection most songs will load up in 30sec-1min.
